Day Five

Choosing Acceptance

Peace begins the moment we stop fighting

One of the greatest sources of inner restlessness in our lives is the war we wage with reality. The war with what was. With what wasn't. With what we wish we could change. And with what we cannot bring ourselves to accept.

Sometimes we believe that if we keep fighting, we will finally find rest. But often, it is the very struggle that keeps us from it.

Acceptance is not surrender. Acceptance is not weakness. And acceptance is not agreeing that everything is as it should be. Acceptance is the choice to stop fighting what already exists. To stop arguing with what has already happened. To make room for peace.

Today's capsule carries a beautiful movement: May you be at peace, and your home at peace, and all that is yours at peace. Peace begins in you. Not in the world. Not in other people. In you. And when peace stirs within you, it begins to touch everything around you.

Before you listen

Close your eyes. Take a deep breath. And gently ask yourself: what am I willing to stop fighting today? No need to change anything. No need to fix anything. Simply to see. Simply to allow your heart to open, a little, to the possibility of peace.

Peace does not begin when everything falls into place. Sometimes it begins in the moment we stop fighting.
