Day Six

Kind Eyes

See yourself, and others, differently

After we stop fighting what is, something inside us begins to soften. And suddenly we are able to see things we couldn't see before. Not because they weren't there, but because the struggle had taken all our attention.

Sometimes when the heart is hurting, it grows accustomed to seeing mainly what is missing. What isn't working. What troubles us. What still asks for repair. But alongside all of this, there is always good. Sometimes small. Sometimes quiet. Sometimes so close we forget to notice it.

Today I invite you to look through different eyes. Kind eyes. Eyes that seek the light alongside the challenge. The blessing alongside the difficulty. And the beauty that already exists in your life, in this very moment.

Sometimes peace does not change reality. It changes the eyes through which we see it.

Before you listen

Close your eyes. Take a deep breath. And as you listen, bring to mind yourself. Then one person who is close to your heart. And then someone with whom things are perhaps a little harder. Try to look at all three through kind eyes, without changing anything, without fixing anything. Simply to see.
